The Back to high school Clothing and Footwear Allowance (BTSCFA) helps you meet the value of uniforms and footwear for youngsters getting to school.
The BTSCFA scheme is open for applications from 21 June 2021 to 30 September 2021.
The BTSCFA is paid automatically to several families within the week beginning 12 July 2021.

If you're paid automatically you don’t need to apply for the BTSCFA. you'll get a letter before 21 June 2021 to allow you to know that you simply are going to be paid automatically. If you don’t get a letter by 21 June 2021, you want to apply for the rear to high school Clothing and Footwear Allowance online – see ‘How to apply’ below.

You may qualify for the rear to high school Clothing and Footwear Allowance if you are: • Getting a welfare payment (including Working Family Payment, Back to figure Family Dividend and Covid-19 Pandemic Unemployment Payment) or a Health Service Executive payment • Taking part in an approved employment scheme (back to figure scheme) or • Taking part during a recognised education or training course, or • Getting a Daily Expenses Allowance (formerly called Direct Provision Allowance) for a toddler in education (or for yourself if you're 18–22 and returning to full-time second-level education), or • Involved in a neighborhood Partnership Scheme, or • Attending a FET (formerly Fás) or Fáilte Ireland training course
